Well, that was October. I started the month off on a bad foot due to some insurance pains, but I think I've got everything sorted out? I don't know, it's kind of a weird thing that I'm still grappling with but I (seemingly) have coverage so, uh, that's good enough? On a similar bad-news note, my mood took a nosedive about two weeks ago which was, well, it was bad. I hadn't felt that low since last November and in both cases my mind went to some very dark places. Still, I'm better now and it's a reminder to myself that I need to stay on top of my antidepressants. Also, I noticed that I've been running this blog for over two years now. I don't update it as much as I'd like to, and it's largely just a chronicle of the horror games I've played, but it feels nice to have some things I've written saved in one place.
It's here! It's here! It's fina-lully here! The new Dragon Age comes out today and I'm stoked. I'm writing this before I've had a chance to play it but as I've spent the past, oh, year working my way through the entire franchise I'm excited to finally see the next game. I wrote about my year-long voyage through the series recently, so give that a read if you're at all curious.Another place I've been using for a while, Twitter, is... doing some very dumb things. As a result I think I may, for a time at least, use Bluesky instead. I wish Elon would just sell the thang ding to someone else, but until then I might have to use another site to post my little tweets and whatnot. I've been posting there for a bit and while I miss having access to my years of existing tweets and accounts I'd followed, it's been rather freeing to know that I'm not on a website owned by Elon Musk.
I finally got a haircut at the start of the month, which was long overdue. I always needed to keep my hair short when I was younger but I started letting it grow out once I went to college and I, um, have just kinda let whatever was going to happen to it happen for coming up on a decade. Needless to say, I feel great now that it's shorter and more manageable. I liked having super long hair but I do not miss the mess. I've updated the avatar I use for this place, you can take a closer look at it here. I don't have much artistic ability but it's fun to do drawings like this every so often.
I'm finished with Resident Evil. I still have a few more Silents Hill to play, but once I get through those you can expect a fancy writeup from me on this whole horror trek I've put myself through. It's been quite the memorable experience. Back to this month specifically, I played the RE2make, the RE3make, Resident Evil Village, and the RE4make. All of them were excellent in their own way and they have me excited for the future of the series.
Oh, lastly, I voted early this month and I highly recommend that those who can do so as well. Though, truly, all I want is for people in the US to vote for Harris. I know there are legitimate concerns with her and her platform and that she's done and will continue to do unspeakably horrific things, but the fact of the matter is this country will have a better chance of course-correcting under a Democrat than a modern Republican and sitting the election out gives Trump a better chance of winning. So please, vote for Harris in this upcoming election if you're in a position to do so.
